Core of Nature by jamesholephoto Core of Nature by jamesholephoto
Near Scotts Gap, Northumberland

I was driving back from the airport and was looking for something to shoot to compliment this sky, luckily its oilseed season, and yes, this type of shot is a cliche, but its my first go at it :)

Title comes from the new Midlake album, "The Courage of Others", track number 4, check it out : [link]

I really must read author's comments. Oilseed. It didn't click at first. We don't have that over here; at least not in Michigan. Though I think I've seen something similar in photographs of the West coast...

:giggle: I would of thought you would have been a authors comment reader :D It was shot using a Canon wide angle lens 17-40mm L series :D

Wow. What a lovely expanse of land. I've always loved that contrast of yellow and blue. Maybe because I grew up with it all around, it being my school's colours. Great capture! Are those...daffodils? I can't really tell...
What lens were you using?

Fantastic clarity throughout the shot mate. Yeah it's a cliche, but it's always good to have one in your gallery. :D Might try and get a rapeseed field shot soon myself.

Nah man they seem to be all gone, or mostly all gone now, and never got into any decent fields. :( Poppies are all over the place though, really want to try and get out to shoot them.

I think as soon as you get any rain it knocks the yellow flowers off the crop which ruins it for us photographers! :)

Its funny you mention Poppies, i was shooting sunset in a poppy field just earlier this week, i'll be uploading the shots soon!
